Buy or Sell Your Home with John Murphy
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope that you find the information valuable. I try to provide insight, analysis and opinion on the local and national real estate markets. In addition, I want to provide greater transparency to real estate, real estate transactions and the role of real estate agents in the marketplace today.
Today’s housing market is a consumer driven market. It is not driven nor controlled by the agents. That has flipped the business 180 degrees on its head. That said, most people still need an agent to help them purchase a home. It’s important to have someone representing your interests in the transaction. I see my role as not only representing your interests, but protecting those interests as well and advising you through the process.
If you’re buying a home, there’s no guarantee I, or any agent, can say you won’t lose money on your house in the future, but I can help you make sure that you truly are getting a good price on that home you’re purchasing. If you are going directly to the listing agent thinking you’ll get a better deal because you might be able to save on commissions, think again. I will publish more on that later.
If you’re selling your home, you need someone who can objectively help you position your home in the market as it is today. An agent who will challenge your thinking on price and position is a good agent. I like to think I provide that kind of objective counsel to my seller clients.
If you like what you’ve found on my blog at John Murphy Reports and you’d like to contact me to discuss the possibility of hiring me to help you buy or sell, please fill out the contact form below and I will get back to you. Just by filling it out doesn’t mean I’m going to hound you. This is an initial requests for a first date. I’m a bit old school as a father of six children. I believe in getting to know one another and spending a little time together like courtship before pursuing marriage which is to hire me, contractually, to list your home or to be your buyer’s agent to help you buy a home.
It’s an exciting time in real estate, but there has never been more confusion or volatility with short sales, foreclosures, deed-in-lieu, selling subject-to, and now the rebirth of the new construction industry. Also, there are potentially tremendous pitfalls if you are buying and selling a townhome or condo. Make sure you are represented.
Whether you hire me or not, I hope you’ll continue to come back and visit my blog and tell your friends about it. Have a great day!
